Casa Figueira
is situated in the Algarve, Portugal, which has 300 sunny days a year and has very pleasant temperatures around the year in order to enjoy active or lazy holidays.

Figueira is the Portuguese translation of a Fig; two trees are next to the house.

It's situation
Casa Figueira is an original and authentic restored Portuguese quinta (cottage). It's situated next to orchards of olives and almonds. It's position is very ideal and central in the Algarve at 10 KM (15 minutes) north of the airport Faro and the coastline with it's beaches and Europe's best golf- courses. It is situated 1 KM above the scenic village Santa Bárbara de Nexe. At 400m walking distance is a small supermarket.

The house is very characteristic, idyllic and romantic. It has a large garden and a pool and a guesthouse. It's calm and peaceful with lots of (sheltered) (roof) terraces and patio's to sunbath, be lazy, to read, or to drink or eat in the sun, shade or moon. It has all the necessary facilities inside and outside the house. It has a lovely and superb view to the ocean. 

Principle house
Hall with dining-table and a small fireplace; 2 twin bedrooms, mosquito nets and wardrobe's; bathroom with a bath, a shower en washing machine; living with a big fireplace. If needed satelliteTV, dvd and a radio/CD are available.
(For baby's and toddlers 2 baby-beds, baby-chairs, a pillow to change, a pot, a bath and some toys are available.)

Attached is the kitchen-house; a pleasant and fully equipped kitchen with a big dining-table and fireplace.

In general: the house is equipped with central heating.

Guesthouse
In front of the garden, next to the pool is the guesthouse with 1 twin bedroom with a wardrobe and a bathroom with a shower and toilet.

Outside(Pool, Terraces andGarden)
Casa Figueira is aimed at living in the lovely countryside. In the garden in front of the house is a pool of 5 X 9 m. installed with a salt system which is very soft to the skin (i.e. no chlorine), and a garden-shower. In front of the house and around the pool are (covered) terraces with sunbathing seats en tables, a barbecue and a oven to bake bread. In front of the kitchen is a pergola with a big dining-table. On top of the house is a roof to sunbath (including chairs, big sofa and table) and a magnificent view over the coastline/ocean and Santa Barbára. The home ground is ca. 3000 m². The rural and mature garden is rich with various palm- and fruit trees. From the main road, a private access road is leading to the house.

Activities
In the house you will find a House/quest book, which we composed for you, to help you to find your way. It includes a roadmap, addresses and descriptions of nearby restaurants, nice trips to make in the area, towns (with markets) and listings of golf-courses and tennis-courts.

Some examples of trips to make in the area are: the old historic city center of Faro; east of Faro, fishermen-villages like Olhão and Tavira; and the paradisiacal unspoilt islands; and west of Faro, the beautiful villa-resorts like Quinta do Lago, Vale do Lobo together with it's well known golf-courses and lovely white stretched beaches; the marina of Villamoura; and further down the coast towards Albufeira.

At short distance inland are: Loulé, it's market and it's historic narrow streets; São Brás and the beautiful palace of Estói. The above is to reach within 20 minutes driving-time.

Housekeeper
The house and garden are maintained and cleaned by our dear housekeeper Valentina, a Portuguese lady who also speaks French.

Car-rental and other services
We do recommend you to rent a car during your stay. If you like we could help you to arrange a rental car, flight-tickets and reduction to golf-courses.

Maximum number of persons is 6.
The rental price is inclusive water, 1 gas cylinder (to the central heating in wintertime), electricity, linen (towels for inside use), the housekeeper and poolmaintenance. Please bring your own sunbathing-towels.

Booking
If Casa Figueira is still available at the date you wish, we will sent you a confirmation and invoice. In the mean- time we recommend you to book your flights a.s.a.p. The booking is final the moment we receive your (down) payment.

Upon arrival at the airport, our property manager will contact you how to get to the Casa.
